The MRMPO values public engagement in the transportation planning process, and we want your feedback! While MRMPO does not have final say over which projects will receive funding, we can share information with our board and committee members which may factor into their decisions. Additionally, there will be more opportunities for public input, so stay tuned and sign up for updates regarding the TIP development process.

Roadway capacity: projects that add new roads or roadway lanes

Highway and bridge preservation: projects that maintain existing roads and bridges

Bicycle and pedestrian: building or improving bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and facilities

Transit: projects that add new or more frequent service or transit facilities

Travel demand management: projects that support non single occupancy vehicle travel (e.g., transit, programs that support carpooling, bike share programs, etc.)

Intelligent transportation systems/transportation systems management: technology based projects that increase capacity and improve safety through technology (e.g., dynamic message signs with info on travel conditions)

Safety: projects with a primary purpose of addressing traveling safety

Based on where they are most needed (where there is a demonstrated safety issue or aging or deficient infrastructure)

Evenly distributed throughout the metro area (each area gets a piece of the pie)

Targeted to the most underserved areas in the metro area (areas that have not had the same level of investment as other areas, or areas where there are larger proportions of low-income populations, etc.)
